Dear Charles, I am tremendously impressed by your Real-Statistics package, even though I have so far only learned to use a small part of it. To perform a non-parametric two independent samples test, it is better to use the T Tests and Nonparametric Equivalents data analysis tool. There is no error message ‘Invalid input range 1 selected’ for the Non-parametric Tests data analysis (although you can get such a message without the number “1” included). Here is a workaround: If you click on the Help button and then click on OK, when you return to the dialog box, the help text won’t be obscured.
